Founder Story

“The reverse Oregon trail from Portland led me and my family to a log cabin in the Big Woods of Minnesota. An abundant frontier unfolded, and an opportunity arose to get my hands dirty on a property full of heirloom hardwoods.

This brand was created out of a spirit of constant innovation, to serve the people I aspire to work alongside, and to truly make a legacy with the work I am a part of.”

Our Process

We’re in this business to make the world a better and more beautiful place to live for our family and the future generations lending us this land. The refined materials and relationships we cultivate, are our guiding light as we create something good out of the chaos around us.

  • We procure all of our high end hardwoods from local sources within a 100 mile radius. We reclaim urban and rural logs that would have otherwise ended up chipped, burnt or worse (in a landfill). We sustainably harvest saw logs from our acreage, along with strategic replanting of our diverse forest. Additionally, we select unique and hard to find logs from local forestry services.

  • On-site, select saw logs are brought to our milling facility, where we process these hardwoods into premium hardwood lumber & slabs. Our focus is on the end consumer at this point, milling speciality products not otherwise found in most lumber stores.

  • After our team mills the logs into valuable slabs and lumber, we meticulously clean, sticker, and stack the materials into organized piles. We move these piles into storage where the air-drying stage takes place for a number of months at minimum. This ensures a quality result and less stress on the freshly-sawn wood.

  • Vacuum kiln drying is a core business strategy we have landed on. We dry our own wood and dry for others. We wouldn’t dry our wood any other way. After air-drying, all of our premium material goes in an iDry vacuum kiln. Vacuum kiln drying is superior in every way and offers a fast, reliable and efficient drying process, using a combination of heat and vacuum.

  • Once you’ve got your special pieces of wood picked out and ready to build your project, we can bring it to life with a team of collaborators. You may need slab flattening, re-sawing, sanding, etc - and we can help! We’ve got a direct line on woodworkers, fabricators, and designers who can help you complete your project.

Get Lost in the Woods

  • Black Walnut

Our boldest hardwood offering, known for its gorgeous grain, and rich mineral tones. Locally sourced, milled and vacuum kiln-dried, we offer live edge and dimensional Black Walnut. Vibrant sapwood and deep heartwood coloring.

  • White Oak

Known for it’s superior hardness and traditional aesthetic, our large format White Oak is flat & quarter-sawn in both live edge and book-matched pairs.

  • White Ash

Bright & airy, beautiful White Ash is a very forgiving material to work with. It has wide and relatively straight grain, making it a great choice for table tops and legs, and very paint-able.

  • Hardwood to Find
